MISSIONS:

SYSTRA is looking for a System Assurance / RAMS Engineer who will report to the senior System Assurance engineer in the Design & Build and International (DBI) business unit.

Based in Dubai, he/she will be responsible for collaborating with the Senior System Assurance engineer to provide technical expertise for system assurance and RAMS on transportation projects including bids, consultancy services, projects and DBI System network.

Projects:

• Collaborate with /work under the supervision of the Senior System Assurance engineer to deliver System Assurance and RAMS services. This includes inter alia:

• Prepare System Assurance and RAMS management plans.
• Perform RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety) analyses.
• Manage and monitor safety review requirements.
• Provide safety assessment.
• Critically reviewing safety deliverables such as Hazard Reports, SIL Reports, Safety Cases and Safety Plans, etc
• Attend or lead HAZID/HAZOP workshops to assess hazards, causes and levels of risk
• Create and amending Safety Cases following common standards such as EN50126, EN50128, EN50129 and EN61508.
• Endorsing hazards, causes and levels of risk in Hazard Review Panels.
• Following up Control Measure Transfers between different Parties.
• Reviewing Test procedures and attending Tests to ensure validation of requirements.
• Liaising with the Independent Safety Assessor to resolve key certification risks.
• Following up and providing Validation of Control Measures and Safety Requirements for Hazards / Control Measures exported to third parties.

• To follow up, monitor and support Safety Assurance activities of Contractors and to integrate third party activities into Safety Cases in order to get no objection of the Independent Safety Assessor to bring Metro / Tram lines into service or to upgrade the configuration.

• Interface with domain experts from other disciplines within SYSTRA or external (e.g. Operations, Rolling Stock, Signalling, MEP, Civil engineering, etc).

DBI System Bids & Sales:

• Reviewing Request for Proposal, raising tender clarifications, estimating workloads / challenging others’ proposals, preparing proposal methodologies or reviewing others’.

PROFILE:

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical degree is essential.
• Professional certifications and memberships in relevant engineering associations and project management are a plus.
• A good working background of Rail Industry from developed Countries is essential, min 10 years.
• Proven experience in similar Safety discipline, min 5 years’ experience.
• Experience in railway industry.
• Exposure to relevant System Assurance standards including but not limited to EN50126, EN50128, EN50129, EN61508, MIL-STD-1629A.
• Experience in performing detailed hazard analyses (e.g., Preliminary Hazard Analysis, Subsystem Hazard Analysis, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis.
• Ability to prepare professionally presented and structured SA plans, analyses documents and reports.
• Knowledge of software (safety critical systems related, SA modelling) would be a distinct advantage.
• Good software skills in DOORs, CompyPro or similar.
