Your day to day
In a nutshell, as Laundry & Uniform Attendant, your role will include key responsibilities such as:
Washing:
- Washing of all soiled items, taking great care that no damage will come to them, and careful not to overload the washer.
- Follows to the latter then wash formula set by the Laundry Supervisor.
- Report malfunctions of the equipment and sees that it is thoroughly cleaned after the day’s works
- Is responsible for the washing and rinsing of an established number of loads per hour
- Adjusts water and steam valves in accordance to pre-set wash formulas
- Adds washing solutions and chemicals in accordance to pre-set wash formulas
- Loads all items into the washer, closes door of washer and opens it when operations are completed
Presses:
- Pressing all wearing apparel
- Shake out garment to be pressed
- Opens press and re arranges article being pressed to cover other area articles
- Repeat operation until the article is complete press
- Hangs filed garments or rack near press
- Place items not possible to put hangers partially folded on table near press
Spotting and Dry Cleaning:
- Removing all stain from pieces
- Loading and unloading of the dry cleaner unit
- Filters the solvent as often as necessary
- Classifies pieces according to color and amount of soil
- Check that solvent level is within the level suggested by machine manufacturer
- Loads solvent into machine when needed

We are now seeking an experienced and lively Laundry & Uniform Attendant to join our team. This person will be responsible for cleaning in this vibrantly designed lifestyle hotel located in a key location in Dubai. As the first lifestyle branded hotel of IHG in the Middle East, this exciting project really is something to be part of. This is a great opportunity for talented hospitality and Housekeeping professionals to step up in their career and experience a new challenge in a trendy lifestyle brand. You’ll report to the Guest Experience Manager – Housekeeping, and you’ll play a big role in supporting the overall success of the hotel. The right fit for this role is someone who has solid hotel background with an energetic and fun personality. He/She should be passionate about people and hospitality. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are essential. If you are this person, we’d like to meet you. Ideally you should have 1-year experience in and a solid understanding of Laundry operation in a 4- or 5-star hotel. Availability to work flexible hours across a 7-day operation is essential. This ‘hands-on’ role requires for someone who is enthusiastic. A high level of personal maturity is vital for this position; good visual memory. At ease in a multi-cultural environment and you will bring with your strong interpersonal skills and excellent command of written and spoken English is required.
